First, I want to thank everyone for the prayers for Dusty our horse. We had to have her put down in January. We didn't do any final testing, but the vet is almost certain she had cancer. Please keep Frisco and all our pets in need, in your prayers.
Now, we are needing prayers for our dog Frisco again. Last year he had a tumor removed from his side and I honestly feel that the prayers on here helped him through it. The vet and vet tech both commented to us (on separate occasions) that during the surgery - Frisco's heart rate and vital signs never faltered or changed and they both considered that rather unusual. (I, personally, couldn't help but think of Saint Francis and this prayer list!)
Anyway, Frisco now has a possible tumor on his nose/snout. We are having a biopsy done on Tuesday and I would very much like to request prayers for him again that there are no problems with the surgery and although I know - it is in God's hands --- if you could also pray that it isn't cancer and is something treatable I would really appreciate it.
Thanks so much!

After having lost Blackie just a short time ago, now one of our dogs is in the hospital with a tumor, which may be inoperarable. His name is Dinger. He is a happy dog the vet said, not really seeming to be in pain, but we are needing a miraclePlease keep Dinger and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers. Please pray for Kevin too as he suffers through another beloved pets illness.

St. Anthony, we ask for your intercession.
We went to the oncologist today for Fritzie and we had some promising news, thanks to everyone who has been kind to pray for him. The doctor seemed shocked and surprised by the results… We aren’t out of the woods, but it’s a good start. Will deal with the Feline Leukemia later, it’s just one step at a time.Blessed Seelos, we ask your intercession for Fritzie and all our seriously ill pets!
Thank you so much for praying for my baby, they are working as is God. He goes back on Monday for his next chemo treatment. Even though we are facing a lot of issues, we are pleased with the results today. And we have a few more precious days with our beloved kitty Fritzie.
I want to thank you and everyone who is sending their good thoughts and prayers to Fritzie, it means the world to me.
You faithfully prayed for my Springer Sioux last fall when she was diagnosed with lymphoma. I thank you for that. You probably remember that I had to put her down on December 11. I've been very sad since but have felt guilty when thinking of getting another dog. Please pray that Julie's discernment in adopting Colt.
Tomorrow I'm starting a two week trial with a Springer that I would like to adopt from a local shelter. They estimate his age to be 1 year. He has a lot more energy than Sioux. That will be new for me. He's also a male. That will be new for me. He made me smile last night when I met him. Please pray for me, Colt, the new dog and this new chapter in both of our lives.
Thank you very much,

I found out today that my dog Xena may have cancer or cirrhosis. I won't know for another month. We're treating her with antibiotics to see if it's just an infection. Her liver enzymes are very high though. They're at 390 and they should be below 25. I just don't even know what I'll do without her. She's my best friend...Please keep Xena and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers. God bless you all!
Anyway, thanks. God bless you.
Please pray for Woof. She's a beautiful 16 yr old Border Collie and has had a stroke. She's the world to her master who is also sick. Thank you so much... and all the pets here will be in my prayers as wellPlease keep Woof and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers.

Dr. Weil's 6 Tips to Raising a Healthy Companion Animal
Thanks to Rosa.
Thanks to Rosa.
However, we also make it very clear that pets are animals. When a pet dies, we do not request prayers for the dead pet. Instead we pray for the grieving owner of that beloved pet. Pets do not have immortal souls, like a human being does.
With that said, I would like to share a recent article by a priest on the danger of humanizing our pets to the detriment of society.
For the Love of Pets
Please thank everyone for their loving prayers. My Son's cat, Jack, from Ocoee, FL., was found in the garage several days after he had disappeared.Thank you Lord, for answering our prayers. Thanks so much everyone for your prayers!
I continue to pray for those animals who have not yet found their way back home and the families that love them.
Thank you again for the prayers and the website.
I just came across your site when I was looking for information on St. Gertrude of Nivelles, what a wonderful resource for those of us struggling with the most difficult parts of pet companionship. Please keep Sierra and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers.
My husband and I are asking for prayers for our 9 yr old cat, Sierra, who was just diagnosed with nasal lymphoma. She starts chemotherapy tomorrow but it will be a waiting game to see if it works. Sierra has been such a wonderful companion to me for all of her years, I just want to make sure she's given every opportunity to beat this cancer. She's the most special cat I've ever owned, so smart (too smart for her own good some times) and so full of joy, she's completely wrapped herself around our hearts. Any and all prayers would be appreciated.
I'm attaching a picture of her if you'd like to post it.
Thank you so much! God Bless!

please pray for my precious MaltesexShitzu, Mignon, she is seven years old and is having kidney stones removed on Thursday 25/2/2010. I am very worried, thank you and God BlessPlease keep all our pets who have to undergo surgery, in your prayers.
Esther- I am not sure if I logged in correctly, but wanted to be sure to thank everyone for their prayers. So, here again is my post:Your prayers really do help! Please continue to pray for Meanie and for Pauline and her husband.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!! After three and a half days of not going potty, Meanie went at 11:53 pm tonight! I have been praying, but still bawling in despair thinking we were going to have to put her down tomorrow morning, and it was killing me thinking that all of her pain through the past three surgeries (and four anesthesias) was all in vain-- now I have hope. I know this is only one hurdle in the many to come, but I was very worried about this one. Please continue to pray for her recovery, and pray for my husband who is losing his faith in God, and of course I will keep all of you in my prayers as well.
Esther- thank you for your wonderful website that is able to unite us all in prayer for those we love and who love us so unconditionally. I really believe that this is a direct result of all those praying for us. I truly can't thank you enough, and will keep you updated on Meanie's (hopefully improving) status.
Your prayers mean the world to me and our family. Fritzie went to the oncologist yesterday and had his first chemo treatment. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I believe in miracles, and our little baby needs one. I appreciate your kindness and kind words. Keep praying for him, we will find out next Thursday whether or not the first treatment worked, and if we can continue. Please continue to pray for Fritzie and all our seriously ill pets.
I will pray that God keeps you and your babies in his good graces, and brings you a lifetime of happiness together.
Thank you again,

Please pray for Rosie, 9 ½ who was diagnosed today with renal failure. It is possible that it can be reversed and we will know in the next day or so. We rescued her 7 years ago and worked with her as she struggled to trust again after being obviously abused. Slowly but surely, she showed her teeth less and loved more. Her funny, feminine personality provided a lot of entertainment and I am missing her clever way of ‘stealing’ people food. Tonight she is refusing both food and water. Hampton, our 13 yr old rescued-Springer, who suddenly seems more energetic and worried about his often annoying companion. Thank you and God bless. Please keep Rosie and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers.
Jan has another lovely site where an owner can add a tribute to a beloved pet that has died.
The Ghosts of WE: Rainbow Bridge
The Ghosts of WE: Rainbow Bridge
My dog was diagnosed with heart worms yesterday, she is my best friend I love her soooo much, I want her to be with me for a long time. I am getting her treatment and I need for her to make it through this. My husband and I will stick by her every step of the way, she is part of our family, I love my Trina with so much of my heart. Please keep Trina and all our pets in need in your prayers! You have no idea how much they depend on our prayers and how much our prayers make a difference.
Please keep my Meanie in your thoughts and prayers. She has had a very rough month (and so have her parents). It started 12/23 with a totally fractured jaw (? due to decay?). Miraculously, this healed on its own with antibiotics, time, pain meds, and love. Three weeks ago, a bald spot showed up on her right hind leg. A week later it had turned into a huge growth. The vet removed it and found it to be a rare cancer that spreads slowly, but acts aggressively where it is found, and has very deep roots. They suggested amputating that leg, so we did this Tues 2/16. She was doing ok, is in a LOT of pain despite the constant pain meds, but for some reason is unable to urinate. The vet ran multiple tests today and was unable to find a reason. Please pray that she gets back on her (three) feet and recovers from this. Her daddy did not want to have the surgery to begin with (for both financial reasons, and not wanting to see her in pain), so this is putting a huge stress on our relationship. If she doesn't recover from this, it may mean the end of our marriage. (He has already told me that he blames my decision, and that will never take this course of action with a pet again). Your prayers are greatly appreciated- we love her SO much!!!Please keep Meanie and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers. I would also ask that you keep both of her owners in your prayers for the intention of peace in their marriage.

From Greg, Jak's owner:
Not sure if you remember me, my dog Jak was the one battling lymphoma cancer the last 7 months, I emailed you around 12/30/09, I am the owner that tried all the natural medicines and wants to start a blog or website for animal owners in need who have sick pets.
On Thursday February 4th 2010 my dog Jak lost his battle to lymphoma cancer, he was a real fighter who battled the cancer til the very end. He loved life, but especially loved people that is what keep him going til the end. Please pray for Jak, I truly believe he is at peace now and knowing Jak he is comforting everyone in heaven. He was so special to me, I loved him with all my heart, I will never forget him and how he changed my life forever.
Please pray for him and all our sick & diseased pets. God Bless you and thank you, Greg.
I attached a jpeg of my handsome Jak.
I left this poem with Jak along with a picture of our Lord Jesus Christ and Saint Francis of Assisi so he wouldn't be alone on his journey to heaven.
"I ONLY WANTED YOU"
They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
I would ask that you pray for Greg as he mourns the loss of his beloved dog, Jak.
I would also like to take this time to remind owners who have lost pets, that you can add a tribute to your pet at Fond Pet Memories. See for yourself other beloved pets who are remembered by the owners who loved them.
Please pray for our Korat cat Jak he is unwell and wont eat pray we don't think he can make the night please pray for his health and strength thank you everyone. Please keep Jak and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers.

From Sarah, Jade's owner:
Thank you for your kindness. Today we went for her vet appointment it seems that she is responding well to her treatment.Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue to pray for Jade and all our pets in need.
I just received word from my vet that my beloved cat Fritzie has been diagnosed with Feline Leukemia and possible lymphoma – he has to do some more tests, but I need your help, please. Please keep Fritzie and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers.
He is the sweetest cat in the world, we adopted him 6 months ago from a shelter in Sarasota. Since he has come into my husbands and my life, he has given us so much love. He chose us, we sat in a room with a group of kittens, and he visited with us equally, from my husband to me and back again. He is smart, loves to play fetch, actually brings us the ball. Fritzie is truly the nicest and purest hearted cat I have ever experienced in my life, he gives the sweetest kitty kisses, and is the most polite kitty ever, and I am going to be devastated if he has to leave us. Please pray that God finds a way to heal him, so that Fritzie can live a long and happy life with us. We are still waiting on some more tests, so if you can pray for a miracle, I would be ever so grateful. I can’t lose him.
His name is Fritzie Lansky, he is just under a year old. Please pray for a miracle for Fritzie
I had requested some prayers for some warehouse cats back in November, in particular, Grey and White adult cat, a Grey and White kitten, a Black and White adult cat, and anyone in the vicinity who was negatively affected by some mean-spirited people. I am asking that those cats are safe, that I am able to find them and give them wonderful homes. It is especially difficult now since I can only go on the outskirts of where they may be. I am especially upset because they are no longer being fed and the winter has been horrible around here. I know the chances of finding them are very small. I am hoping against hope that there are some powerful loving forces out there that will help me find them safe. Please help. Please keep these dear cats in your prayers!

I am asking today for a prayer request for my dog, Jade. It seems she has been exposed to rat poison. She is currently under treatment, but I see her showing symptoms day after day. I have read all about rat poison and want to believe there is still hope for her. I have no rat poison at home. I am not sure how this occurred. Please pray for her. On Wednesday we need to go for blood tests again. As I mentioned, I just want to see some hope. I am devastated, but looking for strength and for God to help me accept whatever the outcome should be.Please keep Jade and all our seriously ill pets, especially those who have been poisoned in your prayers.
Thank you for your time.
Our dear friend Adrienne's family has suffered another loss of a beloved pet. This time it is Sophie their little dog of 17 years. You can read all about Sophie's story here.
I would ask that you keep Adrienne and her husband in your prayers.

I am working in New York and my husband and 2 year old daughter are still in Europe waiting for us to be reunited. My husband finally told me today that our front door had opened with a huge gust of wind and by the time he found the door open, my beloved Portia, a beautiful 3 year old orange cat, was gone. She has never done this even with an open door. Her mother does stroll outside but never she nor her brother. My husband found her brother hiding in a corner so I am wondering if someone found the door open and took my cat or if she ran out. Whatever the case, I am simply broken-hearted and don't know where to begin. he found this website for me for some consolation but I am inconsolable at this time. It is bad enough to be far from home because out of financial urgency but this is the last of a long line of heart-breaking news since I left Jan. 1. I beg God for her return as she cannot have certain food and will become very ill if someone tries to feed her anything but dry. She is allergic to canned food. I ask all of your reading this to please say a prayer for her return and in return, I promise to keep this website live and pray daily for the needs of all on the page. I know what illness of a pet is a like and now being missing is something I cannot easily accept. God Bless you all! Please keep Portia and all our missing pets in your prayers.

This is to request a prayer for Charlie, our dog, who is loved so much. Last Saturday, she was diagnosed with a bone tumor and will be put down tomorrow. She has been a part of our family for over six years and has brought joy, smiles and at times, frustration but the love has only grown for her. Throughout her life, she has been plagued with one illness after another and has only shown gentleness and affection to us. Her antics will fill our memories for a lifetime. God gave her to us to teach us patience, forgiveness and learning to love no matter what! Please keep Charlie in your prayers. This may take a miracle. I'd also ask that you keep Marcie in your prayers as she struggles through this difficult time.
God bless you, Charlie. You will always have my love and respect.. Thank you for your gifts, all of them.

From Mary and Mark:
Hello everyone! Thanks everyone!!! Especially, thank you God!
Jet has survived parvo.
Thank you all for your prayers!!!
He is home!! Thank you St Roch for interceding... We prayed the Rosary every day til he returned home and was well again!

I share with you the best news ever--Asher came back!!Thank you all very much!!
Thank you SO very much for your prayers. It was bitter bitter cold the two days he was away. On the night he returned it was zero to minus two. I am so thankful to you and every other force of kindness in the world. It was so good to find your site and be able to ask for help.
Blessings overtake you--one of each kind!
I bought my daughter a puppy and we just found out he has parvo. He is receiving good care at the animal hospital but I truly believe in prayer or positive thoughts. If you have some time please send positive healing messages for our baby Shiba Inu, Gunner. Here at Prayers for our pets, we rely and believe in the power of prayer. We ask our friends the saints for the intercession that God answer our prayers if it be His will. With that in mind, I ask that you pray for Gunner and all our seriously ill pets.
I wanted to update you on Stewie the cat's safe return after being gone for 4 days and 3 nights. I did everything I could from prayer requests, contacting our local radio station KONP, getting in add in our newspaper PDN, putting her missing profile on Craigs List and on my My-space account- I got a call on Monday at around 2 pm from the Olympic Humane Society here on the Olympic Peninsula saying that they found a cat who matched Stewies description. We drove down there and it was her!!Thank you so much everyone for your dedication to praying for all our pets in need! They truly make a difference. Of course, we have to thank God for answering our prayers.
Apparently someone had trapped her in one of those cat trapping devices and when they took her to the humane society she was soaking wet and covered in some kind of stench so they bathed her and gave her her shots to be on the safe side. Stewie seemed like she didn't even know me when I first saw her and they said it was because she was in shock. When we got her home she snapped out of it-
Those cat trapping devices should be illegal and it was here in our new neighborhood and nobody came out to tell us even though we called for her many many times from friday to monday and had fliers up all over the area. We are so thankful she is home, but saddened that this has probably happened to other people who didn't get a phone call for their pets safe return.
We don't let her outside now because there is a deranged individual in our community who traps cats and takes them to the humane society- and there are no strays in this neighborhood, so this person is doing this just to be cruel.
Thank-you for your prayers!!! They worked!! I haven't been to church in over ten years, but I promise that I will be in church on Sunday morning- I just have to find a church, :)!!
Thank-you so much,
Monday, February 1, 2010
Within 5 minutes of you posting my prayer request I received a call to say that this FedEx driver had seen found posters about 5 miles away. When she came home she found my flier in her mailbox. I was reunited with my beloved Thor and Terra.God sure answered our prayers very quickly! Thank you all for your prayers.
Thanks for all your prayers and to St Anthony for answering prayers.
Let’s continue to pray for similar happy endings.
I prayed these two prayers non stop since I found it on your website.
St. Anthony, when you prayed, your stolen book of prayers was given back to you. Pray now for all of us who have lost things precious and dear.
Pray for all who have lost faith, hope or the friendship of God.
Pray for us who have lost friends or relatives by death.
Pray for all who have lost peace of mind or spirit.
Pray that we may be given new hope, new faith, new love.
Pray that lost things, needful and helpful to us, may be returned to our keeping.
Or, if we must continue in our loss, pray that we may be given Christ’s comfort and peace. Amen.
Dear St. Anthony,
you are the patron of the poor and
the helper of all who seek lost articles.
Help me to find the beloved pet I have lost
so that I will be able to make better use of the time that I will gain for God's greater honor and glory. Grant your gracious aid to all people
who seek what they have lost---
especially those who seek to regain God's grace.
All Glory and honor to our Lord and to St Anthony.
Thor and Terra our beloved dogs took advantage of the gate blown open by the wind and went out to play on 01/29/2010.Please keep Thor, Terra and all our missing pets in your prayers.
They just forgot to come back. Please pray for their safe return and pray for the person/s that may have picked them up that they may be returned to us.
Please keep Thor and terra and all missing pets in your prayers.
