Urgent Prayer Request for Sookie the Dog

From April:

I'm begging for prayer for a lost and terrified foster dog. 2 weeks ago, a rescue greyhound got loose from her handler and ran 6 miles up I-95 until she veered off into the woods. This poor girl is extremely skiddish, very terrified of men and was on our way to our home for fostering when she got loose. I have prayed for this sweet Girl's safe return, but so far no luck. We have had sightings, multiple traps out for her, people out everyday spreading the word as well as news stations and radio involved. Her name is Sookie and she's a 3 yr old black ex-racing greyhound. We love her and miss her, please pray for her safe return.

Holy St. Anthony, St. Jude, St. Roch, St. Martin, St. Benedict, please in your mercy intercede in locating Sookie - watch over and protect her, and allow her to trust the Holy Angels to lead her safely to April where she will be so loved and cherished. Prayer for My Pet

In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God,
when You created the Universe
You blessed us with all living creatures.
We especially thank You for giving us our pets
who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life.
Their presence very often helps us get through trying times.
Kindly bless my pet.
May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power.

May we realize that as our pets
trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us,
and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures.
Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species
so that we may continue to appreciate all Your creatures.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called "The Rainbow Bridge" because of its
many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,
there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm Spring
weather.
Those old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
But there is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who
loved them on earth.
So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one runs from the group.
You have been seen.
When you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again.
You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
