Urgent Prayer Request for Ali the Dog

Please pray for my 6 year old Greyhound, Ali. She is very sick, hasn't been eating and has lost a lot of weight. I am waiting for test results and need prayers desperately. I love my baby and can't bear to lose her. I will be praying for everyone's pets who have been posted on your site. Thank you...

Heather said...: Thank you for your prayers! I just received a call from the vet and Ali has Ehrlichiosis, a very serious and potentially deadly, tick borne disease. I just did some research on this disease and I hope that you can post something on your site about awareness. It can be treated, but if my vet hadn't though to test for this disease, Ali may have died. Again, thank you for your prayers and I hope that knowing about this diease may help others!; December 2, 2010 at 9:36 AM

Prayer for My Pet

In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God,
when You created the Universe
You blessed us with all living creatures.
We especially thank You for giving us our pets
who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life.
Their presence very often helps us get through trying times.
Kindly bless my pet.
May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power.

May we realize that as our pets
trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us,
and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures.
Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species
so that we may continue to appreciate all Your creatures.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called "The Rainbow Bridge" because of its
many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,
there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm Spring
weather.
Those old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
But there is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who
loved them on earth.
So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one runs from the group.
You have been seen.
When you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again.
You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
