Today is the feast of St. Hugh of Lincoln. You can read more about him at the picture source link. What was interesting and pertinent to this blog is the fact that he had a great affection for children and animals. In fact, as you can see in the above picture, he is often portrayed along side his pet swan. This swan acted as his "watch dog".
