Urgent Prayer Request for Murphy the Dog

From Sandra:

Please could you pray for MURPHY my West Highland Terrier. He is 9 years old, and has been healthy all of his life . 3 weeks ago we noticed he was having breathing problems, we took him to the Vet and was told he might have an enlarged heart. he has had various tests and we have now been told (yesterday) that he has a very large tumor on his lung that is pressing on his heart. We have been told he might live for another week and to take him home and spoil him for the short time he has left. I feel as if my world has come to an end, I have prayed to every Saint I can think of. Please pray for him he is fighting for breath but is still trying to be the wonderful kind and caring little man he has always been. He dosen't want to give in yet. Please pray for him.

In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God,
when You created the Universe
You blessed us with all living creatures.
We especially thank You for giving us our pets
who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life.
Their presence very often helps us get through trying times.
Kindly bless my pet.
May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power.

May we realize that as our pets
trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us,
and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures.
Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species
so that we may continue to appreciate all Your creatures.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called "The Rainbow Bridge" because of its
many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,
there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm Spring
weather.
Those old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
But there is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who
loved them on earth.
So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one runs from the group.
You have been seen.
When you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again.
You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
