Prayer Request for Shawnee the Dog

This website is fantastic. Thank you for taking the time to set it up and to monitor it so vigilantly. Please pray for my German Sherpard Shawnee. She's nine years old and to say that she is my best friend wouldn't come close enough to describing the bond we share. My fiancee and I fear that she is suffering from Degenerative Myelopathy and are extremely worried about her. She is going to be diagnosed tomorrow and I am worried that the vet will have bad news for our family. I cannot imagine the fear and confusion she is going through. Please pray take the time to pray for her. Thank you all so much and for your thoughts and prayers and please know that we'll be praying for all of you as well

Please keep Shawnee and all our pets in need your prayers.

Prayer for My Pet

In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God,
when You created the Universe
You blessed us with all living creatures.
We especially thank You for giving us our pets
who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life.
Their presence very often helps us get through trying times.
Kindly bless my pet.
May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power.

May we realize that as our pets
trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us,
and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures.
Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species
so that we may continue to appreciate all Your creatures.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called "The Rainbow Bridge" because of its
many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,
there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm Spring
weather.
Those old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
But there is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who
loved them on earth.
So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one runs from the group.
You have been seen.
When you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again.
You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
