Urgent Prayer for Barney the Dog

From Alex and Family:

Our dog Barney is a 12 year old Border Collie and the most wonderful family dog you could have ever asked for!
He has been with us through some very sad times, including when my young children and I watched my husband die suddenly one night 2 years ago. He is a kind, gentle, sensitive and faithful companion whom we cherish deeply. 4 days ago we were told he has Canine Lymphoma that seems to be fairly aggressive.
Please can you send prayers and healing thoughts for him. We do not wish him to suffer and hope that when the time comes he will pass quietly in his sleep. Today he played catch with my children and our other dog Star and was full of life but now he is tired and short of breath.
We love him so so much!

We ask for the intercession of St. Martin de Porres and Blessed Seelos, healers of pets, to heal Barney and all our seriously ill pets, if it be God's will. Thanks all for your prayers!

In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God,
when You created the Universe
You blessed us with all living creatures.
We especially thank You for giving us our pets
who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life.
Their presence very often helps us get through trying times.
Kindly bless my pet.
May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power.

May we realize that as our pets
trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us,
and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures.
Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species
so that we may continue to appreciate all Your creatures.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

for our friends, the animals, especially for animals who are suffering:

Prayer to St. Martin de Porres

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called "The Rainbow Bridge" because of its
many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,
there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm Spring
weather.
Those old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
But there is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who
loved them on earth.
So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one runs from the group.
You have been seen.
When you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again.
You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
