Prayer Request for Doc the Cat

The following was a comment left by Amy. Please keep Doc in your prayers.
I found your blog in my search for prayers to find my lost cat Doc. He has been missing for 8 days after escaping through a hole in our crawl space. I am sorry that you have had to experience the pain that comes with having a lost pet. I am worried sick and pray that Doc is safe and returns home soon.
St. Anthony please find Doc and bring him home safely to Amy.

Minx
Please say a little prayer for our cat Minx. She woke up lethargic, lost her appetite and won't drink water. I don't know what is wrong. The vet is closed today.

Thank you.

A Prayer for Dogs

Dog
"Dear lord, as we start each day
There's just one gift for which I pray
Please watch over all dogs everywhere
And bless them with someone to care.

Watch over the pups with plenty to eat
And the hungry strays out on the street
Those getting treats each time they yap
And those who struggle for every scrap

Those that sleep on a nice soft bed
Those with hard ground under their head
Those who play with girls and boys
And those who never have any toys

Those kept clipped and brushed and clean
And scruffy ones that don't smell too keen
Those who get to ride in cars
And those that sit behind cage bars

Those that flunk obedience school
Dig up the yard, snore and drool
Chew up your stuff, chase the cat
And they're still loved in spite of that

And those that are as good as gold
But left out to shiver in the cold
Chained up and forgotten there
They long for a warm home to share

Please God, as we end each night
Help more people do what's right
For each dog they meet, to do their best
And send your comfort to all the rest."

Millions of Animals Killed in Australia Fire

Kangaroo corpses lay scattered by the roadsides while wombats that survived the wildfire's onslaught emerged from their underground burrows to find blackened earth and nothing to eat.

A Pet's 10 Commandments

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

A Prayer for My Lost Cat

This was send to me by my friend Sue after I told her about my missing cat Honey.

St. Francis and St. Anthony, please come promptly to the aid of this
precious cat, and those who love her so, and enable her to find her
way back home, having suffered no ill effects from her separation
from her family.
Thank you sweet Jesus for your mercy on this family and their dearly
loved cat, and for restoring her to them.
It is in your name we pray,
Amen.

Update on Lucy the Cat

From Kirk:
Lucy is getting there. She has returned home but no more going outside for her. At 17 years of age the Vet has said that the act of going outside is too much of a strain and so she must retire into private life and live indoors. I am so pleased all is working out. Lucy as started eating again and I know that my sister, her husband and the children will be pleased...

Heaven

Mutts
A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years.

He wondered where the road was leading them. After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.

When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?"

"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered. "Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.

"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up."

The man gestured, and the gate began to open. "Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked.

"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets." The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog. After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.

"Excuse me!" he called to the man.

"Do you have any water?"
"Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in."
"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.

"There should be a bowl by the pump."

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog. When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.

"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.

"This is Heaven," he answered. "Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too." "Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates?

Nope. That's hell."
"Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"

"No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind."
