Urgent Prayer Request for Chloe the Dog
From Emer:
Message from Oby's Owner
Sandra wrote:
It has been a very tough week and I am deeply bereaved at Oby's loss. A member of the local Church had to come out to my home as I had broken down completely. Thankfully, they kindly spent four hours with me and allowed me to tell them the whole story from the moment I rescued Oby over two years ago right up to the present day. This helped a great deal. They then have said that I can read a poem that I am going to write about Oby as part of the service. I feel this is going to be a long, hard road to come to terms with this loss but I have to go one day at a time. I miss Oby beyond words.
I wanted to thank you and all the kind people that have prayed for me and Oby. He is still with me in spirit :)
Good News - Millie the Kitten
From Sarah:
Sorry it has taken so long to reply. Millie was found 19 hours later far away in the middle of a vineyard. She then went missing again the following day. It appears that she had been following my older cat and was getting lost. She is now grounded!! However, I cannot thank you enough for all your prayers.
God bless
Prayer Request for Buddy the Dog
From Carol:
Our dog Buddy disappeared on 9/4/2010. No one has seen him since. We are heartbroken. We have searched daily but with no luck. We have spent so more than we can afford to with printing up posters and fliers, missing work to search for him etc. I have included a picture of him. Please pray for Buddy's safe return to the family that loves him very, very much.

Update and Prayer Requests - Dudley the Dog
From Scott:
My wife and I wrote to you in the spring this year with a request for prayers for Dudley, from Canada, our eleven-year-old Golden Retriever, who had a spindal cell tumor on his left hind leg. Surgery was successful and he has enjoyed a wonderful, healthy, and happy life, these past few months. For that we have been eternally grateful and thankful to God and I have prayed prayers of thanksgiving everyday since then. I have asked Blessed Seelos, St. Martin de Porres and St. Francis for their continued intercession that Dudley will remain healthy and cancer-free.
Towards the end of August, after an afternoon at the beach, Dudley showed some signs of soreness in his lower spine and the next day his hind legs did not seem to work as well as they normally should. WE thought at first that he played and swam a little too hard that day, but our vet indicated that something neurological may have occurred from this activity and suggested complete rest for 4 to 6 weeks. To date he has not shown any signs of improvement so an x-ray of his spine was suggested which happened this morning. The x-ray showed that Dudley has a fairly healthy looking spine for his age, showing some narrowing of the lower vertebrae, but not anything too severe. The x-ray however, did pick-up an enlarged lymph node, which is a concern. We were told that its location may be very difficult to aspirate since it is near his aorta. He will be having an abdominal ultra-sound to see what else may be going on inside and to look at the rest of his lymphatic system. This may indicate that he has lymphoma. There is also a possibility that his enlarged lymph node is caused from another primary source of carcinoma that has spread to his lymph system. This would be the worst of the two possibilities. We are praying that if this has to happen it will be lymphoma, which has a number of options for treatment. All of this has once again, plunged us, into a place of fear and anxiety of what is ahead for him and for us who love him so much. At the moment we feel sick inside and our stomachs our in knots. The news today has been very distressing.
Our request is first and foremost, prayers for Dudley -- that he will not be in any discomfort or pain and that there will be a treatment available that will allow us all to have more time together. We also request prayers for his wonderful vet who is so kind, loving and thorough in her care for Dudley as well as in her care for us. And finally, I would request prayers for my wife Sarah and I who are so heart sick and worried at this hour.
I am sorry to have gone on so long in my explanation concerning our request for prayers. I am very grateful for your blog site that allows people like us and so many others out there who are requesting prayers and to share our worries, concerns, fears, and thanksgivings. Thank you so much for your prayers and please be assured of ours for you and all who ask for prayers for their pets. May God bless you.

Update on Chase the Cat - Urgent Prayer Request
From Tara:
Poor Chase is just hangin' in there. The little guy hasn’t gotten any
better. So, we took him to the vet again last night. The doctor still has
no clue what his illness is.
At first the doctor wanted to take the “conservative” approach hoping that the amoxicillin antibiotic he prescribed at our last visit the other week would work. But, obviously it hasn’t. So now we are using a “broad
spectrum” antibiotic that is quite strong and hopefully, this will knock
out whatever illness that’s abusing poor little Chase. The vet said that
if it’s working, we should start seeing some improvement by Friday. He isn’t expecting perfection, just a little improvement.
But if he doesn’t show any improvement by the weekend.... then we’re going to have to think about putting him to sleep, as he is suffering. :( The vet said we can admit Chase to the hospital and do all sorts of tests to figure out what this is.. or even send him to the university of Philly to decipher what it is. However, he doesn’t recommend it, because it will probably only end up showing that Chase has something that we can’t treat anyway. So, this is poor Chase’s last hurrah so to speak. If this doesn’t work, we’ve run out of options. So please, please say more prayers for him for this final push. The prayers of course mean as much, or more to me than does the antibiotic for this final fight for Chase's life. Thanks so much!! I am trying to think good thoughts, etc.
It is especially hard because he is such a sweet, kind and friendly kitten. His disposition is fantastic. The vet told me that all the vet
techs/assistants in the office who saw Chase's name on the hospital
schedule last night were terribly sad to see he wasn't getting any better because he is such a sweet, friendly kitten who is easy to work with. If he were mean or an indifferent, aloof cat, it wouldn't be so hard, but he loves people and to be around them. Anyhow, i'll keep you updated.
