Prayer Request for Abby the Dog

From Diana:

Abby is my husband's special love. I rescued her almost 12 years ago. Right after that my husband got lymphoma. She stayed with him constantly when he was home and has been his constant companion. This morning she is having an operation to remove a mass on her liver. Please pray for her recovery to good health, if not please pray for the strength my husband, and myself to get through this hard time. Your blog is wonderful. I wish I would of known a out it when I lost my dog Chomper suddenly a year and a half ago. May God bless you. Diana

Anonymous said...: Please pray for my ABBY too... She slipped on the ice a few days ago and is unable to walk. My husband rescued her off the streets about 3 years ago. She is a wonderful dog and is SWEET like SUGAR!!! We are praying that all the medicine's she is on works... Basically if she doesn't start walking by tomorrow they might operate on her or or decisions have to be made.... We need a MIRACLE..Please pray for ABBY!!!; February 25, 2015 at 5:58 PM

Prayer for My Pet

In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God,
when You created the Universe
You blessed us with all living creatures.
We especially thank You for giving us our pets
who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life.
Their presence very often helps us get through trying times.
Kindly bless my pet.
May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power.

May we realize that as our pets
trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us,
and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures.
Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species
so that we may continue to appreciate all Your creatures.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called "The Rainbow Bridge" because of its
many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,
there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm Spring
weather.
Those old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
But there is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who
loved them on earth.
So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one runs from the group.
You have been seen.
When you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again.
You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
