Sad News on Ella the Dog and Prayer Request for her Owner
From Sarah:
I wanted to give you an update on Ella; unfortunately the Distemper spread to her Neuro system over the weekend and she lost her vision and hearing and could barely stand or walk yesterday. Her breathing was so labored and she refused to eat or drink anything so I had to take her to the Vet to be put to rest. It was heartbreaking to watch her suffer and the vet said she was only going to get worse. I really wanted her to beat this, but I couldn't let her suffer for my selfish wants to keep her here. I believe that she's in a better place now, but can't shake the guilty feeling that I "gave up" on her. Thank you for all the prayers that you said for her, I think that she had a great little life while it lasted. Please keep Sarah in your prayers as she mourns the loss of her beloved pet.

Update on Crash the dog
From Loretta:
Thank you Esther for your prayers for our Dog Crash. He has been in the vet hospital since Tuesday 11-18-09 and today (11-20) they called us and told us he is doing much better, he is eating, he is breathing much better and he will probably be coming home today or tomorrow. The vet still is unable to determine what caused Crash's breathing problems but with an aggressive treatment of anti-biotics and steroids, he is doing so much better and breathing much better than earlier in the week. The vet is cautiously optimistic, he is not sure how long this will last, but we will take whatever time we have left with Crash and make the most of every minute. Thank you Esther and everyone for your prayers and please continue to pray for our beautiful Golden Retriever "Crash" cause he is not totally out of the woods just yetPlease continue to pray for Crash and thanks so much for your prayers!

Update on the Warehouse Cats and Urgent Prayer Request
From Mary:
The situation at the warehouse has taken a horrible turn and the warehouse people won't let me back in and I think they've cut off all food and water to the cats. Now any cats there and especially the kitten who is used to being fed could starve to death. I really need strong prayers that this situation turns around soon before it is too late for these cats. There are some really nasty people involved. Please pray for this project to be allowed to be completed so the cat can be saved and the whole thing can end peacefully.I would ask that you pray that this situation is resolved and the cats helped.

Recent Update on Ella the Puppy
From Sarah. Ella's owner:
Thank you for the continued prayers. Unfortunately, her symptoms have gotten worse :(. We were back to the vet this week and the vet declared that she officially has distemper. Her symptoms have shown up in the complete backwards order than what a "typical" distemper case is, so I'm hoping that means that she will be a part of the 25% that survives it. She's still happy and has even gained 1/2 a pound, so I take that as a good sign. The vet told me to be prepared to lose her if her symptoms get any worse than they currently are. But until then, we're treating her symptomatically and just hoping for the best. Poor little thing is on so much medicine right now, but she takes it without a lot of trouble. Please just keep her in your prayers and pray that she fights through this and is my little miracle! We continue to ask for the intercession of Bl. Seelos and St. Martin de Porres, who are known to heal the most seriously ill animals. Please keep Sarah and all our other pets in your prayers.
Praise Report on Atticus the Cat
Atticus' owner wrote:
prayers answered! Atticus was "trapped" by a neighbor and has been at the local animal shelter for the past 2 days. Thank GOD I went today, as they only keep captured cats for about 4 days before putting up for adoption or euthanizing. He had no identification and I went to the shelter as a last resort, not expecting to find him there....but there he was!!!! We were both so thrilled to see each other!! After we left the shelter, we immediately headed to the vet for him to be microchipped. He is now safely home and I am saying many prayers of thanks!!!!What wonderful news! BTW, be sure you register the pet's microchip number with the place that issued the microchip...example, AVID, as well as the pet shelter and vet.
Recent Update on Sioux the Dog
From Julie:
On the recommendation of the vet I had cut Sioux's prednisone dose from 20 mg to 10 mg over the past three weeks. Within the last week her breathing has become more labored and the lumps in her lymph nodes seem to be getting larger. I'm trying to decide if I should increase the dosage again. She has been such an incredible gift to me. I just want to do what is best for her.We ask for the intercession of Blessed Seelos and St. Martin de Porres, known for their healing powers over God's creatures. I would also ask that you keep Julie and the other pet owners in your prayers, as they go through a difficult time with their lost, sick or injured pets.
Friday will be 9 weeks since Sioux was given the lymphoma diagnosis. At that time the longest they thought she would live is two months.

Golden Retriever, very beautiful, smart, loyal, sweet and has a heart
of "gold". She is diagnosed with a terrible disease of which there is
no cure. I love Codi so very much, she was indeed a gift from God
given to me on Mothers Day. I am unable to have human children so Codi
is my Heaven sent child. She is very i right now and after an
exhausting amount of tests and medications she is tired and can no
longer stand or walk by herself. I ask that you pray for Codi, I don't
want her to suffer, I want her to get better and feel like she used to.

Prayer Request for Buttercup the Dog
Ada said...
Please pray for Buttercup, she's my 11 year old beagle mix who I've had since I was in kindergarten. She's always such a lively part of my family and she always knows when to make us smile. Recently while out for a break outside, she disappeared. It's been two days, and she's never been gone all night outside before. There aren't any signs anywhere, no one has seen her, and we can't find her. I didn't get a chance to say goodbye and I don't feel I ever will if we don't find her. <3 Please. I don't know what I can do without by baby. Please keep Buttercup and all our missing pets in your prayers.

Update on Ella the Puppy
From Sarah:
Thank you so much for your prayers! Ella spent the day being tested at her vet and they don't think she has distemper! We're still waiting on the test results to be sure, but they're leaning more toward epilepsy now. She's still really sick and on a lot of medicine, but we're hoping to lower the dosages and eventually be able to take them off of them! I've seen an amazing improvement over the last 24 hours (she's wagging her tail again!) and I truly believe it's from all the prayers that she's received. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers and I hope and pray her test results come back negative for distemper and that she gets better and back to her sweet little self soon! Please continue to keep little Ella and all our pets in your prayers.
I've attached a picture of her for you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Feast Day of San Martín de Porres
Feast of San Martín de Porres: November 3rd.
Why is San Martín de Porres one of the patron saint of animals?
The Animals:
He had the gift of communicating with the animals and they would obey him, as they did Santa Rosa de Lima (Note: another great saint from Peru). Paintings depict him as having the dog, mice and cat eating from the same dish.
When he found out a brother at the monastery was going to kill the pernicious mice that were overtaking their monastery, he pleaded to the brother not to kill them. He went and spoke to a mouse, which he held in his hand, as if the mouse was human. He asked the mouse to speak to the other mice and ask them not to do any damage but to go out into the field and he would feed them there.
From that moment, the little mice went into the field and everyday they would wait for Fray Martin to approach and they surrounded him, waiting to be fed by him.

Praise Report on Precious the Cat and New Prayer Request for Warehouse Kitties
I received the following email today:
I appreciate your caring and any way you will help. Please post this prayer request. I was especially surprised how Precious was recovered, maybe thanks to you. Here is my new request:
I posted about Precious back in July and thank any higher beings and whoever helped here, he was found safe.
I now need prayers for the rest of the warehouse cats. The ones that I know at least were there are: a grey and white adult that I met and had to let go at the time because I had no home to take him (this crushes me) , a grey and white kitten who I'm worried sick about, too, a black and white adult and a blue grey young cat. I am especially worried because the grey and white adult was supposedly put off of the property and may not come back and no has seen the grey and white kitten in a long time.
Please pray that I find all all there in good shape and am able to take them to a safe home for a happy, safe life. This is really driving me crazy and I really need some happy relief. Also, please pray for the safe return of my neighbor's cat, who got out about month ago. This site is giving me a little hope and I appreciate it's existence. Please help. Thanks.

Prayer Request for Dimitri the Dog
I received the following email requesting prayers:
My dear friend in Oregon sent me an urgent email for her dear friend in Alberta Canada..this dog is soooo loved by his family and has been through much already here is the prayer request sent to me (whom also is RC).. Thankyou and May God Bless you and those who work with you for this wonderful ministry. Please keep Dimitri and all our seriously ill pets in your prayers.
Hi All,
This is from my very close friend in Canada. This loving Leonburger dog has been though so much illness in his short life. Would you please say a little prayer, or send some positive thoughts to his family and his wonderful Vet?
Much appreciated, Marcy
Please pray for Dimitri. he suddenly got very sick today, and is now in the hospital in intensive care. had the runs, then puked, and cuz of his LP now from puking he has aspiration pneumonia. We have zero idea what happened to him. he was perfectly fine when i went to work this morning. I'm stunned in shock and shaking. very freaked out. last i talked to vet they had to put him on nose oxygen and his heart rate very high. He was getting worse from when we dropped him off at 6pm. They did blood tests, white cell count very low at 1.3, but liver and kidney enzymes ok. I just can't even believe this is happening, don't know what is going on, and he was totally fine this morning. The bill is getting insanely huge, my visa is near maxed out. I don't know what to do. Hoping the meds kick in over night, and with lots of prayers he can be much better in the morning. I'll keep you posted. Michelle
URGENT PRAYER REQUEST FOR ELLA THE PUPPY
From Sarah:
I came across your blog and saw that you take prayer requests......Ella is my 15 month old Maltipoo. She's had a clean bill of health, had all of her shots, and is the most adorable thing you've ever seen. All she wants to do is be held and loved and veryone falls in love with her the moment the meet her. Yesterday, out of the blue, she started having seizures. I rushed her to her emergency vet hospital and the Dr's told me that they believe she has distemper (although she did receive the vaccine for it). The vet wanted to keep her in the hospital for the weekend to run tests and for observation, but unfortunately it would cost $2000, and I just couldn't afford that. So instead they ran what tests I could afford and gave her IV's to make her comfortable and called in a prescription to help stop the seizures. He told me I may only have 48 hours left with her. We've made it through one night and she hasn't had a seizure in about 10 hours, but the medicine keeps her so doped up, it's heartbreaking to see her so lifeless. I'm praying that she makes it through the weekend and to the vet Monday morning and that they (by some miracle) can save her. This dog found me in my time of need, and it breaks my heart that I can't do anything to help her in hers. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She's supposed to be my "forever" dog and I'm not ready to lose her.We ask for the intercession of St. Martin de Porres whose feast day is tomorrow. He was known to be given the gift by God, of healing animals. Please keep Ella and all our seriously sick pets in your prayers.
Praise Report on Smokey the Cat
From Joann:
I want to thank you for your help and everyone involved for prayers for my missing cat Smokey. Yesterday I received a telephone call letting me know that Smokey had been sleeping in their garage for 3 weeks+2 days.......they were not sure what it was....just the jingle of the bell they would hear.....and they placed cat food and water out for him daily. He never peeped out until yesterday, when they were able to capture him and telephoned me. When I picked him up, he was in good condition thanks to the wonderful care these "strangers" provided Smokey. He was only 2 blocks away and had gone into an open garage where he established a new residence until he was found.
I prayed daily many many many times a day, especially to St. Frances, St. Anthony, and St. Joseph for our cats safe return and now he is home. Of course God, Jesus and Mary's name were also mentioned. They answered my prayers and I am so so Thankful!
Had to share this HAPPY news with you. Thanks for providing "Prayers for Our Pets" site because it is WONDERFUL! If I can ever help you in any way, let me know. Not sure what it could be....but I am willing to offer whatever I can do to assist you.
Take care,
Update on Rusty the Dog
Just received from Hilary:
Our prayers have been answered! Rusty had to get 7 teeth pulled and a tumor in his mouth removed (we hope it is benign!!!!!! So we have to keep on praying!)…thank God he woke up quickly after surgery and we were allowed to take him home after 3 hours. He is very weak and wobbly on his feet but now he is curled up at my feet and we hope he will be fine! I can’t believe our luck….it was a terrible feeling leaving home this morning not knowing whether we would bring him back home again tonight.
Most difficult day in my life, but we’re ok for now! Thank you for asking and I will definitely keep visiting your blog to say my prayers for all the poor pets that are suffering.
Prayer Request for Rusty the Dog
From Hilary:
I just came across your blog after another sleepless night. I live in Germany and was looking for prayers for my Sheltie dog Rusty….he is quite old and had to be taken to an animal clinic on Friday. Now he has to be anesthesized tomorrow to investigate what is causing his trouble, and then he might have to be operated straight off. Since he is so old we are terrified it could be sth serious or that he doesn’t wake up after this, or even that the vet tells us that nothing can be done. Please keep all our pets in need in your prayers.
Maybe somebody wants to include us in their prayers in our time of need.
Thank you.
Hilary
