Update on Maggie the Cat

I don't know how to begin to explain this, but our Maggie has had a HUGE turnaround since I sent in the prayer request. I am boggled at how quickly she is recovering. She is almost completely back to being her old self, and her pain has been reduced to the point that she hasn't needed any pain medicine all day. She has begun to play again, and to purr. She ate breakfast and dinner voraciously. The swelling in her mouth has almost totally resolved. Thank you to all of you who prayed for her healing. Our prayers were very quickly answered. Bless you all.

Update on Dasher the Dog

I keep meaning to email you back. Your prayers worked...turned out dasher didn't have cancer :). However he is still very sick..he's lost so much weight and is very weak and getting him to eat is not easy. All We know is that Dasher has a very bad bacterial infection but where its coming from or what caused it is still unknown. The vets are still very baffled and r now looking at the possibility of something being thrown over the fence. So please can I ask that prayers continue for him?

Distressing news about Ted after the vets, he seems to be like an old car, fixing one squeak means you can hear a rattle that was being masked and working on that leaves an oil leak that wasn't there before! The sore that wouldn't heal isn't necrotic but is "co-morbid" with several other conditions and it seems treating any will upset the rest. His quality of life is good still so we're going to fight the battles that we can win as long as we don't erode that quality.

Please be so good as to pray for my little doggie Vladdie Mert, a Swedish Vallhund, who had a delicate 3 hour operation on the 3rd cervical vertebra in his neck to remove a herniated disk on Monday March 18. He was doing much better with medication treatment, and suddenly was paralyzed on Sunday night. Now he needs to be able to stand up, then to walk again! His front feet have feeling, but he can't seem to use them. Please, please help me to pray for the spinal cord damage to recover, and for him to return to wonderful good health again! I have been praying all day long, and crying, and praying for the other animals on the blogs. Your help will be so welcome! He's the sweetest most loving possible doggie! Might you please post a prayer request for ZEKE, a police unit K-9 dog, who was shot in the neck by a criminal in a police/criminal shootout Friday night, 3/15, near Harrisburg, PA.. Zeke was airlifted to the nearest veterinary emergency center where he was stablized, and wagged his tail when his human/police handler was allowed to visit with him late Friday night, God Bless him. The veterinary staff are very positive and hopeful for a good recovery, very pleased with Zeke's condition thus far, but another surgery is required soon to remove the bullet. Prayers and positive healing wishes would be so appreciated. Many thanks!!

St. Felix of Nola is regarded as a martyr even though he was not put to death.  He is regarded as a martyr because he endured everything for love of Jesus, especially much torture.

St. Paulinus of Nola once overheard a peasant praying at the tomb of St. Felix of Nola.  He was praying because his oxen had been stolen and he wanted St. Felix to bring them back.  "Restore these same animals. I shall not accept any others."  When the peasant returned home he found all his oxen safely in their stalls.  Since then he is venerated as the patron saint who finds and returns lost animals.

His feast day is January 14th.

Sad News - CC the Dog

From H.L.: ... I thought I would give you an update on my dog C.C. it is actually a unfortunate one though. Well... after having my lady C.C. for almost 15 years I had to let her go... 3/4/13/Monday morning my Uncle... took her to the Vet and the Vet informed my Uncle that C.C.'s vitals were shutting down. My dad figures C.C. either had a stroke or a heart attack because she couldn't even walk or lift her head. I'll be getting her ashes in 2 weeks time... Flower the Dog

Urgent Prayer Request for Jude the Dog

From Erin:  I would like to ask you to pray for my dog Jude. She was diagnosed with lymphoma about a year ago. She went into remission quickly on the chemo protocol and stayed in remission for the entire round of chemo and 6 weeks after it was stopped. We had hoped for a much longer initial remission. When she came out of remission she was started back on chemotherapy and tomorrow is supposed to be her last dose. I noticed yesterday that her lymph nodes might be larger and they definitely aren’t non-existent like they were when she first started chemo and went into remission. She is experiencing some hoarseness and allergies so I am hoping so much that it’s just inflammation from allergies. They will do a needle aspiration tomorrow at noon. Please pray that the needle aspiration is clean and that she is in remission and will stay there. Lasting remissions are rare but they do happen and I pray that she will achieve one. She has been through so so much (abuse/foster situations) until she found me and she went blind because of the lymphoma, even losing one eye. She has been amazing through all of this and she is my whole world. Please pray for her.

She prefers to be outside). Tonight we took a walk across the street & her and a stray my son named Walter tried to follow us. We tried getting them to stay on the side of the street we live on(it's busy) but she followed Walter. He got hit 1st the car swerved to hit him&ran over his head. He ran down the street from there into a neighborhood. My sister & her boyfriend ran over to the street to get our cat and just when they got to the curb another car came speeding down the street swerved to hit her. She jumped & then flipped few times. She ran to our building (we live in apartments) and ran under it. We can't get her out to see if she's ok there's no way to reach her. We're all in tears feel guilty and hope and pray they are ok. Please if you get this any prayers will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Good News - Sugar the Cat

As you may already know, I am off the computer on Sundays. I therefore, cannot post prayer requests until Monday. However, I pray for all the pets in need...actually all the animals in need, and I know most of you do the same. So, it was heartwarming to read the following comment left on the blog yesteday:

Our cat Sugar did not come home as she normally did Saturday evening. I was really worried by the time I did a last check before dawn. I found this blog via a google search and said three of the prayers. I decided to make a final check and when I opened the door onto our deck Sugar came bounding up the steps and into the house. I fed her and could tell she was very hungry. I have no idea why she was gone so many hours. Anyway prayers sure worked for us this time. Have faith everyone.

Urgent Prayer Request for Dasher and Tia the Dogs

Please pray for our dogs brother Dasher ( who lives downstairs with my parents) who just underwent surgery today to find out if he has cancer of the lymphnodes. He has been sick for a month now with no response to antibiotics. His sister Tia ( my dog) also had to have a lump removed a month ago that turned out to ne cancerous. Many tests later she was in the clear and is now our little cancer survivor :) Please pray that when We get results om Tuesday that it won't be cancer or anything life threatening. Tia and Dasher (who r rhodesian ridgeback x) are only going to be turning 6 in march. They spent 1/2 of their lives so far shipped from one home to another and one shelter to another. We rescued them from the spca only 3 years ago. Mom has MS and her Dasher never leaves her side. Just 3 years ago We both last our dogs to cancer as Well but my dog lived to ne 14.5 yrs old and mom and dads till she was 12yrs. It too soon to have to go thru this again.
