Urgent Prayer Request for Tex the Dog

From C:
Please pray for my 9 year old boxer, Tex who was hospitalized today for renal failure. We are hopeful that he will recover with treatment. He is a very loved member of our family. Thank you.

Urgent Prayer Request for Sophia the Cat

From Kristin:
My cat, Sophia, has end stages of lymphoma. Oddly, she doesn't act sick, yet, so she must feel okay. She is a 7 pound tortoise shell short hair that I trapped in the woods four years ago. She was feral and very wild. It took six months, but she tamed down beautifully. She turned into the most loving, friendly cat in my house (I have 19 in all). I always called her my miracle cat. Please add Sophia to your prayer list. I am still hoping/believing in another miracle for her. Thanks you!

Prayer Request for Ingo the Cat

From Denise:
Please say a prayer for our dear 11-year old Norwegian Forest Cat, Ingo. He was in top form just last week, but Friday we found a tumor under his tongue. The biopsy was today and we await the results. Please pray that he recovers from the sedation of the biopsy, starts eating again, and that the tumor is treatable.

Thanks so much,

Special Prayer Request for the Right Dog to Adopt

From Fran:
My prayers are with everyone. Orion, our 13.5 y.o. Brittany boy, crossed the Bridge from lymphoma last spring. We still have our moments, but our healing continues.

My request is a little different--my husband and I have decided it's time to adopt a new dog. We want to get another rescue dog. Please pray that we get lead to the right dog so that we can welcome him or her home as soon as possible.

Thank you all very much....

Urgent Prayer Request for Bailey the Dog

From Daniel:
Please pray for my Bailey. She has hemalytic anemia and was recovering over 8 months but is relapsing. She has been my companion for 13 years and I would like her to be able to enjoy another summer chasing rabbits and squirrels and rolling in the grass. I will pray for all the animals in need listed on your site often.

Thank you for starting this website. It gives me hope.

Prayer Request for Harley the Dog

Message from Steve Chapman, Sundance's Owner

Hello to everyone who has a prayer request here, visits here, and to those you love. I wanted to say how deeply I appreciate the efforts put into this site.

It takes COURAGE to take a stand and refuse to let the world’s “stuff” and distorted priorities defocus us from deep love and care for our animals. As we are told in GOD’s word, ‘a wise man cares for the needs of his animal.’ (from Proverbs 12:10 (NIV)

To estherjoeysmom, I say this:

Blessings to you for this kindness and caring. What a wonderful service

To all who’s prayers are here for beloved pets and animals, I say peace to you, and the joy of heaven and the new earth awaits our animal friends, and of course us as GOD’s own.

Hang tough, GOD hears our cries and prayers.

In love,

Steve Chapman
Thank you very much Steve. God bless.

Urgent Prayer Request for Harley the Dog

From Sandra:
My Mom is Mom to "Harley' the dog with lymphatic cancer in South Carolina. Harley is a very special and loving little daushaund. She was rescued from a pet shop that had been abandoned. She was found in the top drawer of a filing cabinet where she was left from somewhere between 2-3 weeks, no food and no water. This very special little dog survived all odds and she recovered enough to be adopted only by a special family. My Mom and her little granddaughter, Abbi, 4 years old at the time, adopted the little dog and named her "Harley". Harley thrives with Mom and Abbi, my niece. She has taught Abbi things about life that only a pet could. Abbi can not have a pet at home, so she and my Mom adopted her for my Mom's house. Harley has been such a joy to all of our family. She fills the void in a drab day with all of her wit and charm. She is quick to defend her family and she lives with 3 cats. Harley is the best friend a little girl could ever have. She is also my Mom's watchdog, friend, companion and blessing. Mom is a divorced widow. She depends on Harley for her keen, sharp hearing to protect them thru the night.

I know animals are put here on this earth for a reason and Harley survived and endured the worse life threw at her in the very beginning. She is at deaths door as her breathing is rasp and shallow. She is on steroids to help with the swelling of the glands but the cancer has now spread from her throat to her rectum and last week caused the rectum to protrude out of her little body.

We have prayed and prayed. We do not want her to suffer but can not bear to part with her medically. Please pray that God will heal this little dog for my Mom and Abbi and for her to be able to continue to enjoy the fullest life has to offer her.

At man's hand she suffered, and now at woman and child's hand she had enjoyed life, before the cancer.

We pray that God will have mercy on little Harley and will grant her total healing and a longer life to be with her loved ones.

I happened onto your web site from a e-mail prayer from a prayer thru you.
God bless you for this web site and for all the prayers that I know and believe will be lifted up for Harley and for all the other creatures that are being prayed for.

God bless you all,

Urgent Prayer Request forBuddy the Dog

From Deborah:
Thank you for providing the comfort of a prayer list for sick pets. Please pray for my dog, Buddy, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. My heart is truly breaking and I believe in the miracle of prayer.

Update on Jill the Dog

"Jill" the Dog

From Jackie: U
pdate on Jilly, She is doing much much better! Her brain wasn't injured and she is alert and crying to go home--at least that's what we think. Am sure she is still in pain, they can't block all her pain with the meds without completely knocking her out. They fixed her jaw today and tomorrow they go in & see what can be done to save it. We're praying it can be pinned but if that isn't possible, they will do the FHO. That scares me but am believing it will be alright if that's what it has to be. I will keep the rest of the pets on the page in prayer also for their recovery, and if not possible, for their owners comfort.. Blessings to all. Jesus never fails.

Sad News - Midnight the Cat

"Midnight"
From Juan: I had a great feline of 7 years and wanted to make a memorial card in a catholic kind of faith , he left me with his closed a peaceful death.
But i find it very hard to find a prayer that suits my cat midnight i have added my blog so you can read how much he meant to me and maybe you have a better idea for a prayer i could use as he left this world.
I found your site perused it and some of the prayers were for blessings but its harder to find a great prayer for one of gods beautiful creatures and a companion i included a picture of my cat thank you

I found a site that had what appears to be a Catholic prayer for dead pets. I will be adding the prayer I found to the sidebar. I am making one change though:

Eternal Father, we bring you our grief in the loss of [name of pet] and ask for courage to bear it. We bring you our thanks for [name of pet] who lived among us and gave us freely of his/her love. We commit our friend and companion [name of pet] into your loving hands. Give us eyes to see how your love embraces all creatures and every living thing speaks to us of your love. Amen.
Prayer Source

Please say a prayer that Juan be comforted during this sad time of losing his beloved cat.

Updated Prayer Request for Olivia the Dog

From Mark:
I first emailed you last September asking for prayers for Olivia. Olivia is a five year old Pomeranian that my 11 year old daughter adopted last February. She was rescued from a puppy mill, had spent most of her life in a crate, and despite all that she was exactly what my daughter wanted-a loving little dog that liked to be held, that slept with her, and that loved everyone, yet clearly loved her the most.

On Labor Day weekend Olivia became lethargic and needed an emergency blood transfusion. She was diagnosed with a tumor on her intestine. The tumor was removed, but it was cancerous and had already spread to her liver. Through the will of God, and some very good veterinary care she has survived so far, and has been a happy, playful, a loving little dog to my daughter.

However at her checkup last week, we received news that the cancer has spread further and that the drugs they were using no longer seemed to be effective. This is one of the sweetest kindest little animals I have ever known, and given that her early years were not all that good, she is just wonderful, and she is the love of my daughter’s life.

We could really use all the prayer we can get, both for Olivia and for my daughter Jessica. When I requested help on your site last fall I was contacted by numerous thoughtful caring people with messages of prayer and hope, and we could really use that help again. I don’t know what we are going to do without Olivia in our lives. Any help you and your readers can give is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Sad News - KD the Cat

KD the Cat

Via first email from Patrick:
I found your page this morning, because I wanted to recall who the patron saint of cats is, so I could ask for an intersection for my old cat KD

She is 17 and has been in poor health for the last year

Friday was the last day I saw her, she went outside and has not been back since

I have a strong feeling that she went off to a hidden place to die

I looked everywhere I could think of yesterday, but came up with nothing

She is such a sweet cat, it just breaks my heart to think that she could be really close
and dying, yet there is nothing I can do to be with her

Last night it hit me really hard and I just asked God to watch over her and thanked Him for the best cat I could ever want

Thank you for your web page...I bet it helps to give peace to many pet overs all over the world

With warm regards,

Second email:
A neighbor found KD by his truck...she had been dead for a while...I asked for St. Francis, St. Anthony and St. Gertrude to help me at least find KD...and that if she did die that she did not suffer for long

I do think they helped me locate her through the neighbor

Thank you for your prayers and for your web page

With warm regards,

Prayer Request for Bart the Dog

"Bart" the Dog
From Clodagh:
We are an Irish family living in Spain and we have lost our 3 yr old Beagle, his name is Bart.

He is missing since Tuesday Jan 18th 2011

We are all sooooo upset, my children are crying themselves to sleep every night.
I am crying all day. It´s a great way to lose weight however I´d rather be 2 Ton Tessie and have him back.

I don´t know how we are going to get through this. I haven´t stopped praying and haven't given up by a long shot.

If you could say a prayer for this gorgeous and adored animal I would much appreciate it.

I have attached 2 photos of him.

I will let you know how we get on.

Kind regards

Urgent Prayer Request for Jill the Dog

From Jackie:
Thank you for caring enough to intercede in behalf of our pets. Pease pray with us for our wonderful Catahoula dog Jill. She was hit by a truck & has a fractured hip. Sad News - Atong the Dog

From Reggie:
Thank you so much Esther for the prayers and for everyone who prayed for Atong. Unfortunately he left us this morning. When I woke up, I went to see him right away and I called him and he just looked at me. It was so painful & heartbreaking seeing him everyday like that. After just a few minutes, like 10 minutes after, while having breakfast, he passed away. I felt as if he just wanted me to see him for the last time. I miss him so much and I feel bad because I feel that I could have given more.

Anyway, it was still an answered prayer as he did not reach the stage where it would have been very very painful for him already. I miss him though but it is better this way. I love you Atong!

Petrib is a newly launched pet memorial site to help people mourn, grieve and hopefully better deal with the loss of a beloved pet (here is the press release).  The site was designed with children in mind – it’s colorful and user-friendly – to help them remember their pets in a positive way.
This may be a useful site for those of you who would like to pay tribute to your beloved pet.

One Story of Answer Prayers from New Zealand

The following was emailed to me by Marla in New Zealand. I hope it offers hope to those of you who are still searching for your missing pet or whose pet is seriously ill.

Dear Esther,
I live in Christchurch New Zealand, where we had a major
earthquake a few months ago and have since had many
aftershocks. My dear cat, Ruru, disappeared after an
aftershock and I was very much distressed. I prayed to Our
Blessed Mother Mary for his return, and she laid it on my
heart to offer more prayers. I went on the internet to look
for a good prayer, and came across your website and prayed
the prayer for a lost pet you have there. Shortly after
praying this (and another prayer from another website) it
occurred to me to look for Ruru in an earthquake damaged
house near where I live. When I went, there he was on the
driveway! But he was traumatized and ran away from me into
the basement of the badly damaged building. But at least I
knew he was alive and safe! I went home and prayed some
more, and about an hour later, I heard a rustling noise
outside and went outside and called him softly and he
appeared. He is now safely at home.
God bless you and your website. I offer thanks to Our Lady
Mary, Anthony, Francis and all the saints for his safe
return. I will prayer for all the lost and sick animals you
mention.

Updated Prayer Request for Windy the Dog

From Chandra:
I made a post on Jan. 5, 2011 about my dog named Windy and she has a growth on her neck. Well today we are going to the Vets office again! I need some prayers. The Vet seems to not have an answer on what's going on with her. So I'm getting a second opinion. I hope this doctor has some answers. Please pray for my lil girl Windy! Thanks so much.

Urgent Prayer Request for Fuzzy Whiskers the Cat

From Diana:
Hope the new year finds you and yours well. I was surprised that there was no longer a comment page. Does this request still go out for everyone to pray for? We have an older cat that was diagnosed with a mass by his lungs. We woke this morning to him having no use of his back legs. We hope that prayer will help him through his transition. We feel he is on the way out and hope that he does'nt suffer, and can exit in a dignified manner with little pain.
I had made a request in the spring to find Mossy the cat a stable home and he found a home right away.
You are doing a great thing with this communication.
Please pray for Fuzzy.

NOTE: I INVITE ANYONE TO EMAIL ME THEIR PRAYER REQUEST OR TO LEAVE A COMMENT IN A LESS POPULATED COMMENT SECTION OF ANY BLOG POST.

He has been diagnosed with lymphoma and that he is sneezing a lot and has trouble breathing. Please pray for his recovery from this terrible disease so that he may continue to be a source of comfort and happiness for his "Mom" Maleah and all the many people who have had the pleasure to know him. Harley holds a very, very special place in my heart as well.

Updated Prayer Request for Reine and Louis the Cats

From Wendy:
Thank you so much! Louis is much better, thank God. Reine has had her fourth blood transfusion today, with her red blood count going from 11 to 23. If she can hold it, the vet thinks she will live. If not, we will have to let her go (nonregenerative anemia instead of the regenerative anemia, non-leukemia we're praying for). This came on so suddenly, I'm praying for just as sudden a miracle.

Urgent Prayer Request for Spook the Cat

From Diana:
I write this with great pain. My father passed away several months ago without warning. My cat has always been a comfort to me. We have recently had a huge amounts of snowfall and I have kept my cats inside. They do not like the snow. My cat was a rescue cat – having been found at a grocery store under some crates, he was almost dead. He lived at the vets office for about a month before he was put up for adoption. My 7 year old son picked him out of about 20+ cats and he has been the sweetest cat we’ve ever had. My son can carry him around like a baby and he never claws or bites.

He got outside while several of the neighborhood kids were sledding in the snow, and coming in to warm up and going out again. I didn’t realize he had got out, I thought he was sleeping in another room.

My cats are part of my family. I pray and ask that he not be taken from us after all that we’ve been through. Spook is so special on a lot of levels. I pray and ask for his safe return because I can not handle loosing something I love so much so soon.

Thanks for your website and all the wishes and prayers of the others.

Urgent Prayer Request for Rosie the Dog

From Carl:
I greatly appreciate you taking time, to look at this. On the 10th of Jan 2011, I went to take my dog (Lab) to the vet regarding her ears, only to find out that she has cancer. With utter shock of finding two lumps just under her throat, I just hope dearly for a miracle in the making. It's still hasn't sunk in. Please add my girl to the list of prayer....

Rosie: Age 5 years of age

I Love her deeply & always. Thank you so much.

Updated Prayer Request for Rhiannon the Dog

From Monica:
Thank you for praying.
We took her to the vet on Saturday due to pain. She does small some arthritis in neck and back. Doc says she looks good for her age. She is on steroids. But I got the blood work results…she has a bad liver. Will be talking to vet today about my options. I believe he wants to try meds first and diet change.

Updated Prayer Request for Clifford the Dog

From Vicky:
Well, brought Clifford back to the vet Thursday because he now split his nose and was bleeding everywhere.

The biopsy results came back non-specific for Clifford. The pathologist thinks it may be, but are not committing to, SLE... Systemic Lupus. For now he is on a high dosage of Steroids and antibiotics, in addition to vasculitus and thyroid meds. Praying that it is not SLE; does not carry a good prognosis.

So far since he has been home on Friday *fingers crossed* his ears have stopped bleeding with the exception of one incident.

I am calling a specialist in pet dermatology on Monday to see if they can get a diagnosis for Clifford so we can get proper treatment. Please continue to pray for us!

Thank you.
We ask for the intercession of St. Martin de Porres and Bl. Seelos for Clifford's healing, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Message from a Deceased Pet's Owner

I received the following email today and I wanted to share it with all of you.

I wanted to thank you for your fine web site. I found it while searching for St Gertrude. I used the prayers on your blog for the Divine Intervention for my 17 year old cat, Echo, who had recently came down with FIP [Feline Infectious Peritonitis]. It is usually fatal and was for my Echo, who I had to have euthanized this morning. However I attribute the strength I needed to make that gut-wrenching decision to St Gertrude. Sometimes the noblest and best thing we can do for our cats are to let them go when it’s their time to be called home.

Thank you, again, on behalf of all the pet owners who use your blog. On the information super-highway it is a much needed rest stop for the soul.

John
Proud dad of Echo, 1994-1/7/2011

Thank you John! We will keep you in our prayers as you mourn Echo's death.

Urgent Prayer Request for Clifford the Dog

From Vicky:
This request is for my sick dog Clifford. I do not have children and my two dogs, which are littermates; 6 years old, are my "kids" and I love them both with all my heart.

Almost two months ago, I brought Clifford in to the vet because he seemed to be suffering from his typical "skin allergies." The doctors looked at him and said that it did not look like he was getting circulation to the ear tips and that his skin had a fungus. They did some blood work and diagnosed him with a low thyroid.

Within a couple of weeks, his skin got a little better with the medication for the fungus, but, even though he was also taking antibiotics in addition to thyroid meds, overall he seemed to be feeling worse then he did before I brought him to the vet. When I brought him back, they noted the new symptoms and said he also had an immune disorder and put him on more antibiotics and added steroid pills. All gradually seemed to be getting better for the next few weeks, with the exception of his ears, which began to form large scabs. I attributed it to the ears not getting the proper circulation which caused scabs when healing.

One evening after I got home, he was rubbing his head on the floor and pulled one of the scabs off. It began to bleed, and being the ear, I could not get the bleeding to stop so I wrapped his head until I could get him to the vet to get it cauterized. They did so, wrapped his head, said to leave it for a couple of days then unwrap. I did so, only to discover BOTH ears bleeding. After a week of trying to control it, I brought him back in last week to get them cauterized again so we decided to let him stay overnight with the ears unwrapped and go with a biopsy of the ear tissue to find out the type of immune disorder he is suffering from so we can get proper treatment.

When I picked him up the following day, both ears began bleeding in four places. When I got home, I then noticed he had scratched his eyelids and nose and they all were bleeding. A couple of days later, his snout became extremely dry and he began so sound congested. By Monday, January 3, around the eyes became so swollen that it is now causing his lower lids to sag. He looks and feels awful. I brought him to the EMergency vet, concerned it may be a reaction or something only to be told that it is all probably immune related and I have to wait for results.

I have to keep him sedated so he doesn't try to pull the ear bandages off while I am at work. But when I take them off, the ears won't heal from being wrapped! He is just getting worse and I know that he can die if we do not find the right course of treatment soon! With the holidays... the biopsy results are taking longer to come back. I need prayers that we get answers before it is too late and that he gets better instead of worse, which he seems to have something new everyday! I am frustrated and trying to be patient, but scared to death that I might lose him. Although it may sound silly, these dogs are my world.

Please send prayers that he can heal! Please help! This is almost 2 months overall and he isn't getting better!
Thank you for your beautiful site, for listening. Any prayers I can get for him would be greatly appreciated.

Wonderful News! - Tula the Rabbit

From Cheryl:
Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. This morning, after two days outside, our beloved Tula found her way home! Yesterday we set two live traps in the woods behind our house in the hopes that she might come for food, but we had no luck last night. This morning, as I walked to check the traps, I knew I wouldn't find her, and I didn't. However, as I came back to the house I had a strong feeling that I should check the back deck, and there she was!

I can't tell you how much your prayers have meant to me, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Urgent Prayer Request for Kiku

From the Owner:
Our Kiku was taken from our home on Tuesday, December 28. A week has gone by and my three children and I miss our loving puppy more and more everyday. I ask the Lord to protect him from harm and to guide him safely home where he will be greeted with open arms and his stuffed Santa Claus. In God's Name, I pray. Amen

Urgent Prayer Request for Leon the Cat

From Melissa:
Please pray for my lost cat Leon. He was trapped by my neighbor and dumped off in a neighborhood several miles from our home. At least, that is where the neighbor says he dumped him. He has been missing since December 29, 2010. We are so heartbroken, Leon has been a member of our family for nine years. Please pray with me that he will return safely home, and that I can find it in my heart to forgive my neighbor for this terrible thing he has done.
Thank you.

For my doggie Rhiannon. She is in her last hope treatment. She is older and is in pain due to joint problems.

Boy do I love her but I don’t’ want to be selfish and make her suffer.

I am begging Lord through the merits of his infancy for the medication to work and for her to get better.

And when the times come for me to be strong and return her to God.

Thank you Esther!!!! I love your blog and pray for all pets. God really does love us be sending us these great animals.

Prayer Request for Tula the Rabbit

From Cheryl:
I found your site when searching for inspiration and prayers in the case of our lost pet bunny, Tula. She has gotten outside, and we cannot find her anywhere. It has been a very cold night, and I can only hope she has found a warm place to hide, and that she will make her way back home today.

I know you closed the comment section for prayers and intercessions, but I did note the successes, and if perhaps you might say a prayer for the safe return of Tula, I would deeply appreciate it.

Kindest regards,

NOTE: The comments were closed at those particular posts because it too so long to scroll to the most recent prayer request. You are always welcomed to email me or leave a comment at another post.

Sad News on Dennis the Cat; Prayer Request for Spooky the Cat

From Frank:
We euthanized Dennis yesterday. His quality of life would have been horrible, cancer not curable.. We have another sick cat, Spooky, who had ultrasound yesterday. The vet suspect possible pancreatic cancer. We are waiting lab results. Please pray for her too. Thank you for your Kindness…. ( Happy 2011)

Dennis, my little feline friend,

I loved you to the bitter end.

A sweeter cat one could not know.

I am sorry to have to let you go.

The morning greetings to me that you gave

Transcends the distance of the grave.

Dennis, my little sweet heart guy,

It tore my heart to say good bye.

When death takes me on my last day,

You will be rubbing my leg as if to say,

“I waited for you, my human friend

And now we are united once again.”

I will miss you, my sweet Denny
